Rowleys

Illustrated is one of two extensions designed and constructed for this house.

There are often good reasons for designing an extension as a separate building with a link to the existing house.   In this case it was because a new drawing room was required in a single storey extension without the disadvantages of blocking existing upstairs windows, and at the same time reducing internal disruption.   Such solutions can also be relevant to Listed Buildings where the original architecture is better uncompromised.
