Bradfield College – Cedar Cottage , Staff Housing

The pair of new 3 bedroom staff housing units replace a single storey house in poor condition on an open site with views to the south, on the edge of the College grounds. The scale of the building has been limited by reducing the area of the first floor accommodation as ‘rooms in the roof’. Dormers are utilised at first floor and the roof line is brought down to ground floor eaves height on both north and south elevations to further reduce the effective scale and visual impact.
